Crinoids are found as fossils in the cambrian sediments of the Shenandoah Valley. They are related to starfish, sea urchins and sand dollars. At one time they were a dominant life form here. 

Here is a snapshot of months of work in two and a half minutes. 

I regard portrait carving as celebrating the person before me.
